Administrative Assistant - Burial Clerk
The Administrative Assistant acts as the first point of contact for funeral directors and stonemasons. The Administrative Assistant is also responsible for liaising with clergy, maintaining the statutory Burial Records and for ensuring that the Parish Council's Burial Ground Policy is fully implemented. The Administrative Assistant liaises with the Benefice Administrator concerning funeral arrangements, and is responsible for the new burial ground.
The new burial ground is non-denominational and unconsecrated land. However, individual plots are consecrated at the time of burial, if appropriate.
For fire and security reasons, the hand written records for the Parish Council's burial ground are no longer stored in the Latin School, but they are available for inspection by appointment, c/o the Parish Clerk.
