All About the AGAR Workshop to help successful completion of the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for the year-ending 31st March 2021

Trainer: David Buckett Financial Adviser

The workshop is designed to help novice and experienced Clerks/RFO's to successively complete the AGAR for the year-ending 31 March 2021.

The workshop will dissect the Instructions emailed to all registered Clerks/RFO's by the external auditor PKF Littlejohn to aid completion of the AGAR.

Section 1 – Annual Governance Statement 2020-21

  • Help with making sure your Council has complied with the 9 Assertions and the evidence required to support those assertions.

Section 2 – Accounting Statements 2020-21

  • Provide tips and best practice on the completion of the supporting information required including the bank reconciliation, the explanation of significant variations AND
  • the additional requirements for those Councils subject to the "Intermediate Level Procedures" (i.e. those selected as part of the 5% sample and those with income or expenditure greater than £200,000) AND
  • the additional requirements for those Councils able to "claim exemption"

The Exercise of Public Rights

  • This will cover the statutory requirements, setting the period and evidence of publication.

Buses will replace trains between Ashford International and Ramsgate via Canterbury West on Sunday 11th April 2021 (last train to Wye arrives 01.14)

National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner accessibility and bicycle information

Paddock Wood Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate via Canterbury West will only run between London Victoria and Ashford International via Tonbridge. These trains are running from London Victoria instead of London Charing Cross because of further engineering work.

High Speed via Ashford: Trains between London St Pancras International and Margate via Canterbury West will only run between London St Pancras International and Ashford International.

Maidstone East line: Trains between London Victoria and Canterbury West will only run between London Victoria and Ashford International.

Replacement buses will run on the following routes:

The Ceremonial Royal Funeral for The Duke of Edinburgh will take place on

Saturday 17th April 2021

A National Minute's Silence will mark the start of the Funeral Service at 15:00.

An eight day period of national mourning will be observed from Friday 9th April until the morning of the funeral. There will be no lying-in-state and the funeral will not be a state funeral.

Please note: Coronavirus restrictions are still in place. If you wish to pay your respects, please do so following the rules and guidance. Members of the public are asked not to gather in crowds or to visit royal residences. The Royal Family have requested that the public consider making a donation to a charity, rather than leaving floral tributes.
