The state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Ashford Borough Council will suspend all waste collections due Monday 19 September. Consequently collection days throughout the borough will be delayed by one day for the bank holiday.

The collection in Wye and Brook will be made on Friday 23rd September.

SALT + EARTH Festival of Landscape, Seascape and the Environment:

In Search of Lost Chalk in Wye

10.00 - 13.00 Free ticked event. Book online

A guided walk that will speculate on the holes in the landscape known locally as dene holes. Leader: visual artist Sara Trillo. The walk will consider the lost ancient chalk workings of uncertain age around Wye and the importance of these as Widders Dump in the post-apocalyptic novel Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban.

This circular walk will last approximately three hours.
