KCC Trading Standards have issued a new scam alert for Wye this evening, after cold callers targeted a resident of Little Chequers. Claiming to be from a roofing company the fraudsters offered to pressure wash the drive, and quoted £600 for a card payment, or £400 for cash. The ten bells of Wye church rang at noon

Fire crews extinguish a crop fire south of Wye

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has dealt with a crop fire south of Wye. The fire started on Saturday afternoon and ten fire engines attended the blaze between Blackwall Lane and Little Chequers, Wye. Crews extinguished the flames and prevented the fire from spreading towards the village. KFRS reported at 9pm that fire crews had completed a six-hour firefighting operation. Sports pavilion destroyed by suspicious fire: Police seek witnesses

Fire gutted the Wye Juniors Football Club's pavilion in the early hours of Sunday 19th June. Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a 999 call from a member of the public, but could not save the building. The blaze appears to have started several hours after the Ian Sloan Memorial tournament ended, and Kent Police are treating the cause as suspicious.

A blue Proton and a light blue mini collided at the junction of Harville Road and the Canterbury Road at about 12.40 Wednesday 22nd June.
