Hampton Lane will be recycled Saturday 2nd April
Hampton Lane will be closed to all traffic between Saturday 2nd and Saturday 9th April as part of KCC Highways' rural 'retread' programme. Retread is a road recycling operation which planes the old road surface and breaks it up. The broken material is then levelled out to form a new road base. No trains through Wye on Sunday 6th March
Planned engineering work will affect Southeastern train services this weekend. Buses will replace the hourly train service between Ashford International and Ramsgate on Sunday 6th March 2022. Buses will stop at Wye, Chilham, Chartham, Sturry and Minster stations. The High Speed services between London St Pancras and Margate will stop at Ashford while the line is closed. Last call for Christmas tree recycling for Pilgrims Hospices
Twelfth Night is approaching fast, and 6th January is also the registration deadline for the real Christmas tree recycling doorstep collection. Wye Parish Council meeting cancelled
Wye with Hinxhill Parish Council has cancelled its January meeting. This is in response to the shortage of lateral flow tests and the rapid spread of the Omicron variant in the Wye, Chilham and Kennington area. Gas pipe works in Churchfield Way and The Forstal
Over the next three months Southern Gas Networks plc (SGN) will replace its existing network of cast iron gas pipes serving houses on The Forstal and Churchfield Way, Wye. SGN's contractor 360 Group will start on site Tuesday 4th January and the pipe replacement works are scheduled to take 11 weeks, but this is subject to bad weather delays. Wye Farmers' Market - 1st January 2022
A small Wye Farmers' Market will be held on The Green on New Year's Day Saturday 1st January. Regular stall holders Woodpecker Farm, Chilham and Burscombe Cliff Farm, Egerton will be selling their locally produced organic eggs and meat. Christmas refuse and recycling collections 2021
Wye's next household refuse and food waste collection (grey bins or black sacks) is scheduled for Thursday 30th December. Recycling is due for collection on Thursday the 6th January. Hinxhill Road closed again for up to 12 days
KCC Highways has issued an emergency road closure order for Hinxhill Road to let UK Power Network contractors work near the rear entrance to the William Harvey Hospital. This road closure order runs from Friday 19th November and applies for up to twelve days. Amage Road, Wye closed for up to five days
Kent County Council has closed Amage Road, Wye to through traffic for up to 4 days. The road has been closed at the new property Chitral, on the former Amage piggery site. This is necessary to enable UK Power contractors to carry out cabling works.
