Hassell Street Road Closure
Hassell Street is closed east of the junction with Waltham Road. The planned closure of this 1/3 mile section of Hassell Street is enabling contractors to lay a new water pipe under the verge. The road closure permit extends until Tuesday 20th April, but this is subject to change. Please view the KCC Highways planned roadworks map for updates. Wye Station will close Sunday 11th April
While planned engineering work takes place on the lines between Ashford International and Minster on Sunday 11th April 2021, buses will replace the Southeastern train services. The Network Rail notice confirms that works will require the closure of both lines between Ashford International and Ramsgate via Canterbury West. Storm Darcy: Amber Warning of snow and ice tonight
The Met Office issued an Amber Warning for snow and ice from 04.00 Sunday 7th February. Currently, the Met Office forecast for Wye shows the overnight rain turning to snow from around 02.00 onwards. There is an increasing risk that heavy snow and ice will affect east Kent and the coastal parts of East Anglia, with up to a foot of snow looking set to arrive on strong easterly winds gusting up to 40mph.... Southeastern warns: do not travel by train
Southeastern is warning all passengers that 'due to forecasted heavy snow, there is a high risk of disruption to all trains on the Southeastern network. Southeastern strongly advise that you do not attempt to travel' on either Sunday 7th or Monday 8th February.

Coldharbour Lane closed by a burst water main
Water flowing down the surface of Coldharbour Lane for over half a mile into Wye alerted residents to the fault. South East Water responded quickly to an online fault report and KCC Highways closed the road at Coldharbour crossroads. Four roads into Wye to close for repairs this week
Olantigh Road, Naccolt Road, Wye Road (Coldharbour Lane, Hastingleigh Road) and Bockham Lane are all scheduled for closure during the forthcoming week. Harville Road will remain open, but be traffic controlled to enable drain clearance works. However, as the schools will remain closed there should be less traffic through Wye than normal.
