Wye level crossing: temporary traffic light controls from Sunday 1st March

Roadworks notice at Wye level crossing 1st March 2020

There will be no trains through Wye on Sunday 1st March. Kent County Council has issued a permit for temporary traffic light controls at Wye level crossing between Sunday 1st March and Wednesday 4th March. KCC Highways' warning to drivers is 'delays possible'. Network Rail needs access to the track via the Wye level crossing for road-rail vehicles (RRVs), and the materials it needs for planned track maintenance work. Rail replacement buses will call at Wye throughout Sunday, but Southeastern will resume its normal timetabled services from 06.11 Monday onwards. The planned engineering work will overlap with the start of the planned eight week closure of Naccolt Road. This timing is significant as KCC Highways will divert additional traffic via the level crossing. This road closure is necessary for water main replacement works at Naccolt, scheduled to start on Monday 2nd March. Train services through Wye will be amended on Saturday 29th February. No trains will run to and from Charing Cross during Saturday 29th February, but Victoria line and HS1 services will run as normal.
