Wye Station ticket office is closed until further notice
Southeastern Railway has announced the temporary closure of Wye ticket office, and those at 58 other railway stations across the region. Southeastern targeted ticket offices that have been selling less than 20 tickets a day recently. In normal times Phil Coleman would expect to sell around a hundred 'walk up' tickets from Wye every morning. Clearly people are heeding the government's advice to 'only travel if your journey is absolutely essential.' In response Southeastern has issued a further amended timetable from 30th March for London to Ramsgate via Ashford, Canterbury West and Dover (includes High speed services), and other routes. The full list of the closed ticket offices is available here. At busier stations, including Canterbury West and Ashford International, Ebbsfleet International, and Stratford International, Southeastern will keep the ticket offices open, but has reduced their hours to between 06.00 and 10.00, and in the afternoon between 15.00 to 19.00. For information on how to obtain a refund, please visit the coronavirus refunds page. Network Rail has no engineering work planned this weekend for the Canterbury to Ashford line through Wye.
