A28 to shut this weekend for roadworks

Kent County Council Highways Dept will close three large sections of the A28 Ashford Road and A28 Canterbury Road this weekend Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August. The closure will apply to sections of the A28 between Kempes Corner and Branch Road, near Bagham, Chilham. This closure will enable road and footway dressing works to the carriageway. A three mile diversion off the A28 will be signed via the A251 from Kennington to Buck Street and Halfway House at Challock crossroads, and the A252 via Molash to rejoin the A28 at Chilham.

At this stage it appears that Perry Court Farm Shop may have access restrictions. The road closure notice is correct at the time of update 20.12 Friday 31st July, but contact Kent County Council 03000 41 81 81 for up-to-date information. As always, planned roadworks may be delayed or rescheduled without notice. KCC's job reference number for the A28 works is GE40113011922. Trains from Wye will be running all weekend on the normal timetable.
