Working for Wye - past, present and future

Blackwall Road closed for drainage works

Road Closed warning sign

Blackwall Road is due to be closed from Tuesday 28th July for drainage cleansing works near Bromley Cottage. The closure affects National Cycle Route 18. This route runs between Royal Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury, via Bedgebury and country lanes across the High Weald Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty (AONB) before it descends to to Ashford. NCR18 then climbs again through the Kent Downs AONB, and runs parallel with the Great Stour valley which starts at Wye. In all NCR18 is 63 miles long and the route takes in some of the best scenery in Kent. The nearest alternative diversion around the Blackwall Road road works is via Goodcheap Lane and Hinxhill church. Click here for an Ordnance Survey map of the designated cycle routes across Kent.
