Working for Wye - past, present and future

Amage Road, Wye to close for up to two weeks

KCC Road Closure Notice for Amage Road, Wye

Kent County Council has issued a Road Closure notice for Amage Road, Wye. The temporary prohibition of through traffic will enable South East Water to make new water connections in the vicinity of Amage Farm. However local access to the remainder of Amage Road will continue from either direction up to where the road is actually closed. This road closure will most affect residents of the Brook, Pickersdane, and the Brabourne Road and Hampton Lane area, and all through traffic to Brabourne and Stowting.

Works are scheduled to start Monday 26th October 2020 and the estimated completion date is Friday 6th November 2020. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to re-open Amage Road outside the working hours. UK Power Networks will also be installing a new supply to Mukota House at the same time to make best use of the closure and minimise disruption.

KCC advises that the alternative route for through traffic will be via Brabourne Road, Pilgrims Way, New Barn Hill, New Barn Road, The Street (Hastingleigh), Wye Road and Coldharbour Lane back to Amage Road.

KCC also advises that the planned dates and duration may change for various reasons including the current coronavirus situation.
