Oxenturn Road to close Monday 19th July

KCC Highways will close Oxenturn Road, Monday 19th of July 2021 Wye, between the Chequers Park entrance and Pottery Cottages, Naccolt. For operator safety reasons it will be necessary to close the road completely to traffic, for some time between 07.00 and 19.00. This is to enable contractors to apply a surface dressing treatment over approximately 2,000m of road between Wye and the former Naccolt brickworks. During this period, a diversion route will operate via Spelders Hill, The Street, Amage Road, Coldharbour Lane, Scotton Street, Upper Bridge Street and vice versa. When the road re-opens loose chippings will remain on the surface. Consequently KCC Highways will place 20mph speed limit signs to slow vehicles down. Please drive with extra care until the new surface settles. Surface dressing is usually a quick process but is also heavily dependent on good weather and site conditions. Fortunately the weather forecast on Monday is hot and dry, with temperatures rising to 25C degrees.
