Wye Library will open for an extra ten hours a week, starting today Monday 30th September.

This welcome news follows a county-wide review of all 99 of Kent's libraries. The review ranked Wye in the third of five tiers, based on its relatively high level of use, alongside libraries in much larger settlements like Tenterden, Cranbrook and New Romney.

KCC Highways has issued a temporary prohibition of traffic order for Bridge Street, Wye in the vicinity of the level crossing. Accident in Bridge Street, Wye

Accident in Bridge Street, Wye

A cyclist was involved in a serious accident in Bridge Street, about 10.15 this morning. The Kent Air Ambulance attended, and landed on the Recreation Ground.

The accident happened between the Village Hall and the Tickled Trout, but Police closed the whole of Bridge Street for two hours and diverted buses and through traffic.
