Resilience in action! Wye Co-op reopens only 24 hours after ram raiders destroyed the shopfront

Co-op staff and a team of shopfitters worked hard overnight to clear the wreckage and build a temporary shopfront. The staff were determined to get back to normal as soon as possible and their efforts have enabled the village store to reopen first thing on Saturday morning.

Wye awoke to the shocking news that the Co-op has been ram-raided again. In the early hours of Friday morning, thieves used a 4x4 to smash through the entrance and steal cash from the ATM located inside the shop. Yesterday afternoon armed police officers, supported by a helicopter searched Wye for two men reported to be carrying a suspected weapon near Churchfield Way. The weapon turned out to be a BB gun.
