Coldharbour Lane closed by a burst water main
Water flowing down the surface of Coldharbour Lane for over half a mile into Wye alerted residents to the fault. South East Water responded quickly to an online fault report and KCC Highways closed the road at Coldharbour crossroads. Four roads into Wye to close for repairs this week
Olantigh Road, Naccolt Road, Wye Road (Coldharbour Lane, Hastingleigh Road) and Bockham Lane are all scheduled for closure during the forthcoming week. Harville Road will remain open, but be traffic controlled to enable drain clearance works. However, as the schools will remain closed there should be less traffic through Wye than normal.

Wye Road closed at Staple Lees, Hastingleigh
KCC Highways has closed Wye Road / Coldharbour Lane to through traffic, west of the junction with Cow Lees / Staple Lees. This temporary road closure is necessary to enable South East Water contractors to reinstate previous excavation works. The estimated completion date is Thursday 4th June 2020. Wye and District raised £6,860.60 for the Poppy Appeal
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, Wye and District raised a total of £6,860.60 for the 2016 Poppy Appeal, during the year to the end of September. Yesterday, 40 volunteers started collecting door-to door for the 2017 Poppy Appeal.
