Network Rail will close the road and footway over Wye level crossing from 23:45 on Monday 14th January, until 05.00 on Tuesday 15th January. Part of Hinxhill Road is now expected to remain closed for emergency repairs until 18.00 Sunday 13th January. This is to enable contractors Clancy Docwra to repair a leaking water main. KCC Highways has closed the between the junctions of Goodcheap Lane and Plumpton. The alternative route is via Plumpton, Bockham Lane, A20 Hythe Road, The Street and Hinxhill Road.

Kent County Council has issued an Urgent Temporary Prohibition of Driving Order affecting Blackwall Road, Hinxhill. The churchyard of St. Mary's Hinxhill has a splendid show of snowdrops this year, and they are probably at their best now. The churchyard and its Grade I listed 13th century church are about an hour's brisk walk from Wye along Blackwall Lane and Goodcheap Lane.

Ashford Borough Council has opened full planning application 16/01722/AS for consultation. This proposes a new link road to the rear of the William Harvey Hospital from the A20, and the construction of 207 dwellings.
