The Wye and District Poppy Appeal raises funds for the annual Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The district covers the North Downs parishes of Godmersham, Crundale, Bodsham, Elmsted, Hastingleigh, Brook and Wye with Hinxhill, and includes the hamlets of Bilting and Naccolt.

Thank you for supporting the 2021 Poppy Appeal. Please recycle your poppy at Wye News

Thanks to great local generosity, and the active support from local businesses and volunteer collectors, Wye and District raised a total of £5,384.58 for the 2022 Poppy Appeal. The three card reader machines allocated to the Wye area proved to be very helpful, as 29% of the total sum donated this year was contactless.

The Royal British Legion (RBL) rebuilds the lives of veterans and serving members of all three armed services, and their dependents. Individuals in need may be confronting disability, homelessness or unemployment, or struggling to feed their children, or in a financial or mental health crisis. Please see RBL's website for more information about how the annual Poppy Appeal supports this work.

Given the shortage of local volunteers and the challenge of door-to-door collections again this year, particular thanks are due to Joe Mullane at the King's Head for hosting Wye's pop-up Poppy Shop.

Thank you again to all who supported the 2022 Poppy Appeal.
